Fat acceptance – delussion intensified

When men see an ideal male, or someone close to it, they aspire to be like that man. This is why strong, alpha characters are still popular throughout the culture, even when the unmistakable scent of the Woody Allen-type beta males currently hangs over this same culture. Even when they are portrayed as caricatures or villains (e.g. Archie Bunker or Vito Corleone), alpha males are still admired for their exceptional qualities.

Arnold-Schwarzenegger11Likewise, the same situation can be applied in the realm of physical achievements. There is a huge number of people who got inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger in Pumping Iron to become bodybuilders or just to get in a good physical shape. Later, Arnold became a personal icon, admired not only for his body but also for his charisma and tenacious personality. He was a man who came with nothing and achieved everything.

When a woman sees an ideal woman, she starts bitching, probably on tumblr, about how the ideal woman is not real and how women should be content just the way they are. This brings me to the “fat acceptance movement”, or more accurately “fat woman acceptance”, since, not surprisingly, the overwhelming majority of its proponents are females.

In this movement, we have a group of morbidly obese women, constantly forcing the rest of the normal population to change their personal preferential beauty standards in order to include their grotesquely disfigured bodies into what we find attractive or socially acceptable. And I’m not talking about curvy or even chubby women. I’m talking about creatures that can be only classified as landwhales.

This brings me to this DailyMail article (WARNING: the mentioned article contains some disturbing pictures.). It is about a 311-pound woman who spent 30 days sharing photos of herself nearly naked. She justifies her exhibitionism as a journey to self-love. Her idea of finding this self-love is writing  ‘Be Beautiful’ on her deformed body and pose in her underwear in public places, making people sick in this process. Yes, her idea of becoming beautiful is not through hard work, self-improvement and actually doing something good for your own body, but through self-delusion and following Joseph Goebbles advice that if you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.

If you are a normal person, you find her repulsive and for a good reason. Obesity is unhealthy, and a sign of laziness and personal disregard for one’s own well-being. There is nothing beautiful or admirable about it. Plus, obese people are also crazy and a social nuisance.

I think it’s time we drop the forced politeness and tolerance towards those unpleasant pretentious beasts and we tell them exactly what we think of them. We don’t buy their bullshit excuses and are not interested in their hurt feelings. Fat shaming works quite well and by regularly engaging in it, you are doing society a service.

p.s.: I write this as a former fat person.
