If you follow what is happening in the self-proclaimed atheist/skeptic community, you will notice that lately there is a lot of drama. This was mostly related to the Thunderf00t/PZ Myers incident. I will not go into details here but the whole fiasco was pretty entertaining for an outsider. Short story, Thunderf00t was banned from Freethought Blogs (FtB) for the biggest crime that the political left knows – dissenting opinion. In this case it was due to the disagreement with the feminists that infiltrated their community.

Anyway, now that the brave “skeptic” community around FtB is free from a heretic that dared to criticize and asked the wrong questions, they can move forward towards their noble goals and fight the good fight. And what is next in their priority list you may ask? Well, it looks like the most important issue is “hurt feelings“ of all this “strong, independent wimmins” inside their gang. This story is a little old. What happened was that Harriet Hall, during her attendance and speech at The Amazing Meeting wore this shirt:

This caused a lot of offence and a lot of time wasted over discussions about just how offensive this was. Amy Roth was apparently reduced to tears by the horror of the text on this shirt. Here is what she said:

I think one of the most hurtful things I experienced while attending TAM was Harriet Hall’s Tshirt that she wore three days in a row. I told her through tears, in the speakers’ lounge, that it was dehumanizing and gender/color blind and very hurtful to me specifically as a person who does have to deal with harassment regularly.

And like a spoiled brat, she left the conference early. “I am woman, hear me roar” indeed, haha. The first question that comes to my mind is how is being reduced to tears by a shirt helping you fight gender stereotypes? Also, this is not a trait of a rational thinker. This is exactly why a lot of people are seriously annoyed by the whinny bitches that represent a vast proportion of this community. By that I am especially thinking about the PC feminists that everyone is pandering to. Funny how a group that is supposed to stand for rationalism and free thought is desperately trying not to hurt the feelings people who get offended at a drop of a hat and essentially build their whole career at being a professional victim. Playing the “offended” card is just another method of restricting freedom of speech and trying to control knowledge and information. It also subvert skepticism upon which scientific inquiry is build and is known as Appeal to emotions.

Lets finish with the wise words of Christopher Hitchens about the feelings of the religious:

“I’m sorry, but you do not have the right to not be offended.”
